THE COMPANY
YEAR OF INCORPORATION
NBCC was incorporated as a Public Limited Company in November, 1960, as a wholly owned Government of India Enterprise under the aegis of the Ministry of Urban Development. Beginning with a turnover in thousands, NBCC, based on latest audited results has posted a total Income of INR 3231.45 crore as at March 31, 2011.
AN ISO COMPANY
ISO 9001:2008 Certification has been awarded to NBCC for its Project Management and Consultancy Divisions.
The Corporate Mission enshrines building a high degree of customer satisfaction and providing services confirming
to ISO 9001:2008 series. License for quality management system issued by Bureau of Indian Standards is valid up to
March 2014.
AUTHORISED CAPITAL
The authorized, issued and paid-up equity share capital is Rs. 120 crore. This includes Rs. 30 crore of fully paid-up bonus shares to the existing share holder s as on 26-09-2011.
PERFORMANCE RECOGNITION
Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises of the Government of India based on MOU parameter has rated NBCC as Excellent from 2003-04 to 2009-10 consecutively. Because of its such outstanding performance, Government of India awarded the SCOPE Turnaround Award 2005-06 & SCOPE Excellence Award 2006-07 to NBCC which were presented by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. NBCC has also been receiving Appreciation Letters from various its client organizations, Ministries, State Governments and Government Departments for its successful delivery of projects.
AREAS OF OPERATION
NBCC's areas of operation include (i) project management consultancy ("PMC") for civil construction projects, (ii) civil infrastructure for power sector and (iii) real estate development. The project management consultancy projects being executed by NBCC are of diverse nature such as residential including housing complexes, commercial buildings, institutional complexes, universities, research centre, hotels, airports, runways, t.v. towers, sewage treatment plants roads & highways. In civil infrastructure for power sector segment, our services include civil construction works for power plants such as chimneys, cooling towers and balance of plants. Our real estate development activities, focus on the development and construction of two principal types of real estate projects, namely, Residential projects, such as apartments, townships and plotted developments and Commercial Projects, such as corporate office blocks, shopping mall.
COMPUTERIZATION AND TRANSPARENCY
For observing transparency in the working, Enterprises Resources Planning ("ERP") Software System has been implemented by the NBCC recently. ERP will result in carrying
out operations much faster and accurately. System division of the corporate office has also introduced online Computer Maintenance Services (CMS) in order to scientifically & quickly respond to and attend all system complaints. Website of NBCC
has been hosted on the Government portal 'nbccindia.gov.in' which is
linked with the website of Ministry of Urban Development, Sarkari website,
GOI directory and also major search Engines viz. google, yahoo and msn.
The website has dynamic link with NIC Tender Portal to facilitate posting
of all tenders/NITs on web. The website has secured web based e-mail facility.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CONSULTANCY SERVICES
Being an extended arm of Ministry of Urban Development,
for Ministry of Urban and Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Defense,
Ministry of Home Affairs and various other Central / State Government
Ministries, NBCC is executing infrastructure / developmental
projects in North East Region , Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangla Border Fencing
Works, Defense Housing Sector Projects at Different stations and solid waste
Management at different towns spreadaccross all over India. PMC Services entails
implementation of the project from concept to Commissioning, ensuring Cost & Quality competitiveness.
Always focus shall remain on delivery of projects in time, as also on avoidance of litigation with clients and other associated parties, in order to channelize all resources in the right direction of gainful purpose.
NBCC entered foreign market in late Seventies having executed projects of diverse nature like hotels, hospitals, dwelling units, bridges, flyovers, water treatment plants, airports, public buildings, roads, schools etc.The countries include Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal and Botswana.
REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT
Real Estate Devlopment is one of the major areas of operation of NBCC. Being in the sector since decades, NBCC has executed a number of Commercial Real Estate Projects at various major towns of the country viz Delhi, Vadodara, Cuttack, etc. To provide quality housing to Govt. and Public Sector Employees and also to the general public, NBCC has, of late, started its venture into Residential Realty Sector and had launched its first Residential Real Estate Project " NBCC VIBGYOR TOWERS" in Kolkata. Another Housing Project - "NBCC TOWN" at Khekra (UP) has also been launched recently and is under execution . The Corporation has just launched Residential Project at Gurgaon (Haryana) and Patna and a few more are also in pipeline.
To meet the requirement of General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) and General Pool office Accommodation (GPOA), the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) of the Govt. of India is exploring the possibility of densification of the existing GPOA/GPRA through Re-development Schemes. While one scheme at Netaji Nagar is under construction and one scheme at East Kidwai Nagar in the Capital has already been entrusted to the NBCC by the MoUD.
NBCC has also ventured into buying potential plots, through participation in open auction as well as purchase from Central Govt./ PSU and State PSUs. One plot measuring 8597 sqm at Okhla (Phase-I), New Delhi was bought by NBCC through auction for Rs. 135.37 crores and other plots measuring 3.1813 acres at Kochi for Rs.1.10 crores from CGEWHO and residential land measuring 4.375 acres at Bahadurpur, Patna for about Rs.21.18 crores from Bihar State Housing Board(BSHB), Patna.
Besides the above ventures, NBCC has taken some JV initiatives too, for associating itself with the agencies that are having land at prime locations in major developing cities /towns. A few such projects are likely to mature soon in khekhra, cuttack etc. In one of its important drives, NBCC has recently formed JV with National Textile Corporation Limited at Gujarat for development of their land at Ahmedabad into a modern complex called as Indian Textile Plaza.
We have recently launched a residential scheme "NBCC Town" at Khekhra, UP.
CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR POWER SECTOR
Civil Infrastructure for Power Sector involves implementation of power plant related construction projects such as chimneys, cooling towers and balance of plants, for our clients from concept to commissioning. We have provided these construction services to, inter alia, National Thermal Power Corporation, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, APGENCO Ltd., Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, MAHAGENCO Ltd. And Karnataka Power Corporation Limited.
We have undertaken civil infrastructure projects for the power sector companies in India in 9 states across India including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
